Welcome to the corporate Innovation Department, where thinking outside the box has an approved box.
Creativity runs on a conveyor belt schedule. Bright idea lightbulbs travel down the assembly line, each getting stamped with the flavor-of-the-month buzzword:
“Synergy” on one, “Disruptive” on the next, ad infinitum.
A supervisor in a crisp suit and a hard hat nods at the uniformity – quality control for conformity. One worker hesitantly holds up a truly odd-shaped idea (sparkling with genuine originality), only to have it swiftly swept aside as “off-spec.”
Overhead, a banner ironically reads, “Innovate!” in big bold letters, as dozens of identical boxed ideas pile up at the end of the line.
It’s innovation theatre at its finest: lots of motion, not much meaning.
